Formel D celebrates construction progress of the new Vehicle Development Center with a roofing ceremony
To celebrate the completion of the building shell of the new Vehicle Development Center (VDC) in Immendingen, Formel D held a roofing ceremony this week. The traditional celebration in the commercial and industrial area of Donau-Hegau was attended by well-known customers of the Group, who were able to get a first glimpse of the construction progress of the building and the future range of services at the VDC on this day.
6,660 m² (71,042 ft²) company grounds, 520 m² (5,597 ft²) workshop area, 7 hydraulic lifts, and an existing high-voltage charging infrastructure, as well as a highly secured outdoor area: The new Vehicle Development Center is very promising and particularly impressive with its attractive location in the immediate vicinity of the Daimler test and technology center. The VDC is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020, and Formel D customers have already witnessed massive progress this week.
The roofing ceremony began at 2 pm with speeches by the Mayor of Immendingen Manuel Stärk, representatives of construction company Adventus GmbH, and Marcel Klehr, Vice President of Germany Formel D Group. “We’re excited to give our customers a closer look of the construction progress of our new Vehicle Development Center. The future VDC will be perfectly streamlined for a wide range of customer needs and meet all important requirements, especially with regard to electromobility, shared mobility, connectivity, and autonomous driving”, emphasizes Marcel Klehr.
In the afternoon, the obligatory topping-out speech was followed by the erection of the roofing ceremony wreath. At the end of the planned event program, the guests were able to round off the evening with a food & networking event.
With a strict hygiene concept, Formel D ensured implementation of Covid-19 prevention measures such as maintaining a safe distance and wearing protective masks during the entire event.
