After twelve years at Formel D, Johannes Wallraf became the new Vice President in Germany on January 1, 2022.

With his entrepreneurial spirit and great operational expertise, Johannes Wallraf has always been impressive and has significantly advanced Formel D every year since his start in November 2009. Based on his years of professional experience in the automotive industry, he has continuously managed to lead his team to great success – always keeping his finger on the pulse of the rapidly changing industry. His driving force was always to keep the team spirit high, take an empathetic approach, and deliver the best performance.

As of January 1, 2022, he assumes responsibility as Vice President Germany, reporting directly to CEO Dr. Thomas Klukas, who confirms: “Especially in these challenging times, Johannes Wallraf impressed with his calm demeanor and his proactive decisions. This allowed him to position Formel D for further growth in the future. We’re very pleased that such an experienced, flexible, and reliable leader is now heading the German region for Formel D.

Johannes Wallraf’s career at Formel D started in warranty management in Munich. In 2012, he was the Project Manager there and became the Technical Director in 2014. His career began quite pragmatically with an apprenticeship as an automotive communications technician. Later, he earned a master’s degree in the field of “automotive electrics”. In Denmark, he shifted his focus to the sale and conversion of motorhomes for the Scandinavian market and then worked for Volvo Trucks in Schleswig-Holstein.

When asked what excites Johannes in his personal life, he told us: “My family, the mountains, and golf. When my job and my three kids keep me busy, I recharge my batteries by spending time in nature whenever possible. And, of course, I’m constantly trying to improve my handicap in golf. Some days it works, some days it doesn’t. That’s the name of the game. It’s a great exercise in patience, and I’m sure it will help me in my role as the new vice president. In any case, I’m definitely looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
