25 years | Driving ideas forward
Formel D celebrates its anniversary: On February 10, 1993, former managing directors Viola Metzner and Hans-Josef Orth founded the company in Troisdorf near Cologne, initially supporting a single customer in creating glove department literature with a team of around 60 employees.
25 years later, Formel D develops and implements market-leading concepts for quality assurance in the entire automobile supply chain, both for OEMs and suppliers – from product development, to production, to aftersales. Today, the global service provider employs more than 9,000 associates at over 80 locations in 19 countries.
And in the years to come, Formel D is set to remain on this path for growth. “I am certain that we will benefit from the changes in the automotive industry and take advantage of the opportunities presented by digitization and new forms of mobility,” states Dr. Jürgen Laakmann, CEO of the corporate group. “The services we offer ensure the quality of today’s vehicles, components and systems, and are already essential in validating the mobility concepts of tomorrow.”
Characterized by the theme “25 years | Driving ideas forward,” for its anniversary year of 2018, Formel D has planned not only to continue developing its business divisions, but has also arranged several charity campaigns for social and sustainable organizations. The corporate group will gift 25 toy cars to regional kindergartens to make the hearts of little “drivers” leap for joy. Thanks to the support of Formel D, partner organization OroVerde will be able to plant 250 additional trees in the Guatemalan rain forest, representing an active contribution in the fight against climate change. With this, the number of trees planted as part of this cooperation now totals 1,250. In addition, Formel D will donate 2,500 euros for a typification campaign by DKMS, which is expected to take place at three subsidiaries within the corporate group.
“25 years | Driving ideas forward” – Formel D is taking on 2018, its anniversary year, full speed ahead!
